About the Role
You will work as a caseworker for the newly established York and North Yorkshire Women’s Alliance Service. The service is a multi‑agency consortium that includes St Giles Trust, Waythrough and Changing Lives. Your focus will be on providing person‑centred, trauma‑informed support to women across the county, particularly those who face barriers to engagement such as living in rural communities or belonging to minority groups.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide holistic, trauma‑informed support to female service users, including developing risk assessments and safety plans.
- Deliver one‑to‑one and group therapeutic interventions, and apply evidence‑based approaches such as MI, PSIs, CBT and ITEP.
- Maintain accurate, timely records in the shared database, ensuring all activity is documented within agreed deadlines.
- Collaborate with specialist agencies and the North Yorkshire Police to keep the team updated on referrals received via the Out‑of‑Court Disposal pathway.
- Utilise multi‑agency women’s drop‑in sessions to deliver interventions on a 1:1 or group basis.
- Provide outreach support to rural women using the Liberty Links transit‑size vehicle, and work with the team to conduct assertive outreach to young women and girls in targeted areas.
- Meet contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Represent the partnership in meetings, conferences and public events.
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge through learning, supervision and appraisals.
Qualifications
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards this.
- Experience delivering one‑to‑one and group therapeutic interventions.
- Experience working with carers and families.
- Knowledge of MI, PSIs, CBT and ITEP.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and partnership settings.
Desirable:
- Relevant professional qualification in addiction studies, counselling, social work or therapeutic practice.
- Knowledge of harm reduction approaches in relation to substance misuse.
- Experience of recovery planning and risk management.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and hidden harm.
- Experience using management information systems.
- Understanding of best practice frameworks including NICE, DOH, NTA, NMC, Care Quality Commission and Caldicott Standards.
