Waythrough provides specialist support across mental health, alcohol, drugs, and related areas. We deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based services designed around the real needs of the people we serve. Every year, we support around 125,000 people through over 250 services – all made possible by our 3,500 staff and volunteers.
Join our team to support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This role will support the family plus team in a new and exciting Wellbeing Café targeted toward young people in Key Stage 3. We are looking for a motivated, confident and approachable volunteer to help plan and deliver a safe space for young people to attend.
Tasks
- Support the planning of Wellbeing Café sessions with staff.
- Support the delivery of Wellbeing Café sessions.
- Travel to Wellbeing Café and other activity session venues.
- Support the planning and delivery of school holiday activity sessions.
- Support young people in various activities, e.g., arts and crafts.
- Potentially support staff on home visits.
- Potentially shadow and support other members of the family plus team and other teams within Forward Leeds.

Location & Travel
Primary base: Tower Court, Armley Rd, Leeds, LS12 2LY. Volunteers will be required to travel to venues in Leeds where activities may be held. Travel is reimbursed.
Availability
Minimum availability: Thursday evenings. Volunteers can engage flexibly for up to 15 hours per week.
Training
Prior to the start date, a volunteer must attend the one‑day induction workshop offered online or in person. Following the start date, volunteers have access to our training platform and may be asked to complete several training modules applicable to their role within the first three months.
