This is more than just a job - it's a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the Role

Melbourne View is a 24-hour supported housing service providing mental health support to 12 people living in their own self-contained flats. As a Recovery Worker, you'll work alongside residents to help them build confidence, develop independent living skills and achieve their personal recovery goals. As this is a 24-hour service, you'll be required to work a flexible shift pattern, including early, late and overnight sleep-in shifts, as well as weekends and public holidays, to ensure continuous support for the people we work with. There are also opportunities to work additional hours through overtime for those who wish to increase their earnings. Previous experience in supported housing, mental health or a similar support setting is desirable but not essential. We're looking for compassionate, motivated people who share our values and are committed to making a positive difference.

What You'll Do

  • Support them to manage and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Develop independent living skills, including budgeting, tenancy sustainment, accessing education, employment and community services.
  • Encourage choice, independence and active involvement in decisions about their lives.
  • Build confidence, resilience and meaningful routines that support long-term recovery.
  • Promote positive wellbeing and help people achieve goals that matter to them.

To Succeed in This Role, You'll Need

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
  • The ability to respond calmly, professionally and compassionately to sensitive and complex situations.
  • A genuine passion for supporting people and advocating for those with mental health needs.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate, confidential records.
  • A flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and overnight sleep-ins.

What We Offer

We value the people who make a difference every day. Alongside meaningful work, you'll enjoy a comprehensive benefits package:

  • 27 days' annual leave, rising to 32 after 1 year (plus bank holidays)
  • Pension scheme with 4.5% employer contribution, matched up to 6.5%
  • Life assurance (3× annual salary)
  • Enhanced sick pay and family-friendly pay
