Recourse AI is a venture-backed AI company on a mission to unlock the potential of every life sciences & healthcare professional around the world, transforming patient care. The company has a rapidly expanding customer base, with their domain-specific AI agents reaching enterprise-wide adoption at some of the world's largest health & life science organisations. Our values sit at the heart of everything we do - we're obsessive about potential, tenacity, transparency, and performance.

About us: Medical knowledge doubles every 73 days, and two in three US physicians already use AI in daily practice - yet the way new therapies reach clinicians remains slow and hard to scale. Recourse AI uses conversational AI to help clinicians stay current, and allows life sciences teams to safely and rapidly educate physicians and field teams on cutting-edge therapies - so new treatments reach patients faster.

Recourse AI is a rapidly growing venture-backed AI HealthTech startup with teams in the US and Manchester. Our Manchester HQ - a spacious, full-floor office in the city centre - is home to a team of around 30. Our engineers work across a React/TypeScript frontend, Python backends (FastAPI/Django), realtime voice AI, and digital human avatars.

The role: We are hiring a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to build and ship user-facing features across our React frontend and Python backend. Reporting to the CTO, you will work closely with our senior leadership team, product managers and designers to assess product ideas and contribute to roadmap decisions. You’ll lead product and platform initiatives from design to launch, making key architectural decisions, and helping other engineers through reviews and mentoring. This includes building and improving realtime voice AI used by clinicians and field teams every day.

What you will work on:

  • Own significant product and platform initiatives from discovery through design, implementation, rollout and ongoing operation
  • Lead and influence the design and architecture of new services, features, and platform capabilities
  • Build end-to-end solutions with a strong focus on reliability, performance, scalability, observability and maintainability
  • Lead the triage, diagnosis, and resolution of technical issues and bugs across the platform, with a focus on identifying root causes and delivering timely fixes
  • Proactively identify and drive improvements that keep the platform robust, scalable, and efficient as we grow across enterprise customers
  • Raise engineering quality through system design and code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing across the team
  • Mentor and support other engineers, helping them make strong technical decisions and take greater ownership

What we are looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience building and shipping production applications, preferably using React/TypeScript and Django/Python
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP
  • A track record of owning complex features or systems from technical design through release and production support, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability
  • Strong system design skills, with the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions and clearly reason about trade-offs
  • Experience setting technical direction for projects, guiding design decisions, and unblocking complex technical work
  • Experience helping other engineers grow through design discussions, code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, including Content, Sales, and Customer Success teams
  • Solid computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, system architecture, and distributed systems
  • Good judgment and practical experience applying best practices when working with AI coding assistants

What we offer:

  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Nursery Scheme
  • Spacious Manchester city-centre office
  • Rapid progression and real ownership in a growing team
  • Regular company socials and getaways

You need to be based in or around the North West of England. If you want to work across the full stack, contribute to voice AI, we would like to hear from you.
