Record seeks a Finance Director for a maternity leave cover starting July 2025. Record is a leading specialist currency and asset manager with $100.9 billion (as at end March 2025) in Assets Under Management. Our services include currency management, sustainable finance, and asset management. Our clients are largely institutional, including pension funds, charities, foundations, endowments, and family offices. Our offices are in London and Windsor in the UK, Zürich, New York, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. The relevant team is based in London.

Position: Finance Director (maternity cover)
Location: 3 Sheldon Square, London, W2
Role: Full-time (37.5 hours per week). Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the office.
Reports to: CFO, overseeing five finance professionals.

Core purpose:
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Finance Director will oversee daily financial operations of Record Financial Group, ensuring financial management and operational efficiency. We seek an experienced senior accountant for a 15-month maternity cover starting July 2025, to maintain the financial control function and team operations. This is a great opportunity to work with a well-established investment management business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the following on domestic and international levels:
  • Daily accounting operations
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Regulatory compliance with internal stakeholders
  • Corporate tax compliance
  • Oversee payroll, including annual returns and share-based payments
  • Ensure statutory law and regulation compliance
  • Coordinate audits
  • Assist with budgets and forecasts
  • Support CFO in reporting to leadership and board
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1s
  • Participate in ad hoc projects
  • Maintain and improve processes and procedures, introducing new methods and ensuring system accuracy

Requirements:

  • Degree educated
  • ICAEW, ACA, or CIMA qualified with 10-15 years in financial control or as a finance director in a major commercial sector, with UK accounting and tax expertise
  • Willing to learn about international aspects of the business
  • Highly numerate; advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, possibly from FP&A work
  • Proactive, energetic, quick learner
  • Flexible to adapt to a fast-changing global financial services environment
  • Willing to understand our business, sector, and regulatory context for compliance
  • Effective communicator and listener; confident leading a motivated team
  • Capable of autonomous work, managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working with senior colleagues
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Knowledge of finance technologies like SAP Business ByDesign is advantageous
  • Available from mid-July 2025 for full-time work
