The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Sports Relationship Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in managing a diverse cohort of athletes, strengthening relationships with stakeholders, and securing sponsorship deals to further support the development and potential of our athletes. This is a unique opportunity for a relationship-focused professional with a passion for sports and a talent for partnership-building.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify new business opportunities to expand reach and influence within the sports community;
- Drive strategic initiatives to develop new revenue streams and programs that align with our mission;
- Collaborate with leadership to set and achieve growth targets, building partnerships that foster long-term value and sustainability.
Sponsorship Acquisition:
- Identify, approach, and secure sponsorship and partnership opportunities for Athletes;
- Develop and deliver persuasive sponsorship proposals tailored to potential partners' goals and values;
- Work closely with athletes and our marketing team to build sponsorship packages that provide value for sponsors and align with the athletes' brand and values.
Relationship Management:
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including brands, sponsors, and community organisations, to build a network of support around our Athletes.
- Represent the organisation at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and promote the organisation.
Marketing & Promotion Support:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to highlight athlete achievements, sponsorship engagements, and other program successes.
- Co-ordinate with athletes and sponsors to promote events, campaigns, and brand activations on various platforms.
Ad hoc duties:
- Any other reasonable duties to support day to day activities of the organisation
Requirements:
Proven experience in relationship management, sales, or sponsorship acquisition, ideally within the sports industry;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build trust and credibility with athletes, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
A results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving partnership and sponsorship targets.
Strong understanding of the sports landscape, including trends, challenges, and opportunities for athlete support and sponsorship.
Ability to manage multiple projects and relationships effectively and independently.
