About the role
If you love seeing people grow and get a real buzz from helping them succeed, this one’s for you. As our Site Training Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind capability and performance across the site designing and delivering training that genuinely makes a difference to the people who take part in it. You’ll bring the operational training agenda to life through high-quality, innovative workshops, development programmes and all sorts of other training initiatives. Working across multiple teams, you’ll run assessments, deliver engaging sessions, welcome and onboard new starters, and help existing colleagues sharpen their skills and reach their potential. It’s a hands-on, people-first role with real variety, one day you’re assessing drivers and giving feedback, the next you’re refining SOPs, updating the training matrix or feeding into the site’s continuous improvement plan. - Delivering professional training and handling the training administration across the site
- Running candidate assessments, giving feedback to drivers and managers on progress, and recording clear judgements based on the competency, knowledge and skills you observe
- Keeping us compliant by keeping the Site Matrix (training records) up to date
- Creating, updating and regularly reviewing SSOWs and SOPs so they stay fit for purpose
- Being a key player in the site’s continuous improvement plan, and helping shape new and enhanced training metrics
- Working closely with stakeholders, managers, learners and subject-matter experts to make sure every bit of training and material hits the mark
- Planning, scheduling and communicating all appointments and assessment activity, keeping productivity high and delivering real value for money
- Being the site’s First Aider trainer, working alongside Health & Safety to train first aiders as the site needs them
What we need from you
Your qualifications & experience
- A training qualification (PTLLS, AET) and/or an assessor qualification (A1, Assessor Award)
- Experience developing training programmes and delivering qualifications (e.g. NVQs, Apprenticeships)
- 3PL experience and a practical working knowledge of SOPs
Your toolkit
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, plus experience using project-management Microsoft programmes
- Organised and accurate, even when things get busy
- Excellent communication skills — you can hold your own with people at every level, professionally and warmly
- Confident making decisions and using your own initiative, with a flair for creative problem-solving
