Here at Advanced Supply Chain, we’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to support the ongoing operational success of our Sheffield site in Chapeltown. This is a full-time, permanent role, working 40 hours Monday–Friday, offering a competitive salary of £60,000–£70,000 (DOE). Key responsibilities:- Provide strong, people-focused leadership to the Operations team, ensuring clarity, engagement, and high performance.
- Take full day-to-day accountability for all operational direct costs, contributing to the overall P&L performance.
- Oversee planning, production processes, and people utilisation, ensuring they align with company standards and values.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures to support safe, efficient, and consistent operations.
- Lead and support all aspects of people management within the Operations team, including recruitment, onboarding, deployment, performance reviews, training, and adherence to HR standards.
- Maximise operational potential through strong commercial awareness and sound financial decision-making.
- Proactively identify operational challenges, resolve issues effectively, and drive continuous improvement across the site.
- Strong functional knowledge of warehousing operations and garment processing environments.
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements within warehouse and distribution settings.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, with the ability to apply continuous improvement principles.
- Strong financial acumen, with proven experience in leading teams to achieve financial and operational targets.
- Experience working with bespoke business solutions and supporting operational infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, with the ability to interpret, manipulate, and leverage data to drive informed, data-backed decisions.
