Using our unique intelligent supply chain model, we design innovative solutions to complex challenges, unlock new opportunities, and speed up and streamline existing processes by removing complexity from the supply chain. It all adds up to providing a service that is “Better, Faster, Cheaper” than our competitors.

Our core values drive everything we do. We believe in promoting a supportive environment for our colleagues, delivering exceptional service to our customers, contributing to the community, and working towards a more sustainable environment. If you share these values and are passionate about making a positive impact, we'd love to have you on our team.

This is a brilliant opportunity to get hands-on with the software that keeps a major supply chain business moving. As an Application Support Analyst you will be compensated with a salary of £43,000 and you’ll join a growing, genuinely capable team of support analysts, software developers and QA specialists, all working together to support and improve the systems we’ve built in-house.

Based at our Sheffield site, you’ll support our Azure-hosted Warehouse Management and Transport software, the platforms our operation depends on every day. Using .NET and T-SQL, you’ll dig into the code to find and fix defects yourself, or escalate to the development team when needed, all tracked through ServiceNow and Jira. Over time, your mission is a satisfying one: steadily driving down the number of known bugs and defects across our systems.

No two issues are ever quite the same, and you’ll be supporting colleagues across multiple sites, so if you enjoy solving problems, getting to the root of things and seeing the difference your work makes, you’ll love it here. Best of all, it’s a real chance to sharpen your skills and work with the latest technologies alongside people who know their craft.

  • Supporting and enhancing our in-house software in a structured way, in line with our existing standards
  • Getting stuck into data-handling and transactional systems, identifying and fixing defects, or escalating them to the development team when needed
  • Working in an agile way, both on your own and as part of a small team, to keep our software high-quality across a variety of projects
  • Joining the daily stand-ups to share your progress, what’s coming next, and flag any blockers
  • Always keeping that longer-term goal in sight: reducing the number of known bugs and defects across our systems

The essentials:

  • A real problem-solver at heart
  • C#.NET or Microsoft Visual Basic .NET development, plus ASP.NET and object-oriented programming
  • Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, and a good grasp of relational databases and the .NET Framework
  • A proven track record working on data-handling and transactional systems

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to Compact Framework 3.5, WinForms .NET, .NET Web Services and ADO.NET
  • Front-end know-how — jQuery / JavaScript, Knockout.js (or similar) and TypeScript
  • Experience of agile frameworks (SCRUM) and source control (TFS, GIT or SVN)
  • A degree in Computing or a related subject, or Microsoft certification, though neither is essential if you can show us what you’ve done

The kind of person you are:

  • Confident, and someone who works well as part of a team
  • A good communicator who keeps people in the loop
  • Pragmatic and self-organised, with a sensible approach to getting things done

At Advanced, your journey begins with a warm welcome and a comprehensive onboarding experience designed to set you up for success from day one. But it doesn't stop there—we’re committed to your continuous growth, offering ongoing training and development to help you sharpen your skills and reach your full potential.

We understand the significance of maintaining a healthy work/life balance, which is why we offer a hybrid working model for our office staff.

We know that time to recharge is essential for your wellbeing. That’s why, in addition to your 25 days annual leave, we offer the option to purchase additional days—giving you flexibility to take the breaks you need.

We believe that family matters, our enhanced maternity package offers six months of full pay, giving you the time and peace of mind to focus on your growing family. New dads and partners also receive two weeks full paternity pay, so you can be there for those important first moments. And because we love celebrating our people, you’ll get your birthday off, completely on us - enjoy your special day, work‑free!

Planning for your future has never been easier—or more rewarding. Through our salary sacrifice pension scheme, meaning you pay less tax overall, while still investing in your future.

How to prepare for a job interview at Reconomy

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
