About the role

As our Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be the person who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, from planned preventative maintenance to the reactive fixes that keep a fast-moving operation on its feet. No two days are the same. One day you might be managing planned works through our CAFM system, the next you’re troubleshooting a reactive issue, supervising contractors working with external auditors. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our Facilities Manager and connect with people at every level of the business, so if you like variety, solving problems and seeing the real-world results of your work, you’ll thrive here. Based flexibly across our Sheffield and Bradford sites with regular attendance at other group sites, this is a hands-on, get-stuck-in role with plenty of scope to make it your own.

  • Looking after our CAFM system and keeping planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) on track
  • Staying on top of reactive works, reviewing and updating entries, prioritising what matters most, and escalating anything tricky to the Facilities Manager
  • Supporting the Facilities Manager day to day, coordinating meetings and flagging anything that needs a closer look
  • Keeping our documentation clear, consistent and up to date across the Teams sites, in line with our templates and guidelines
  • Overseeing site waste management, including the occasional ad hoc job and keeping site equipment in good shape
  • Lending a hand with new site openings, which may mean the odd bit of travel or an overnight stay
  • Supervising contractors and making sure work is done safely and to a high standard

What we need from you

  • Experience in facilities management and a good understanding of the relevant regulations
  • A full driving licence and the flexibility to travel - you’ll be out and about visiting sites to manage contractors, support audits and back up the team
  • A solid grounding in general engineering
  • Experience of a fast-paced, agile warehouse environment
  • A good handle on health and safety statutory checks
  • A general working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Flexible and proactive, happy managing your own priorities in an organised, methodical way
  • Driven, with a genuine can-do attitude

What we offer

At Advanced, your journey begins with a warm welcome and a comprehensive onboarding experience designed to set you up for success from day one. We understand the significance of maintaining a healthy work/life balance, which is why we offer a hybrid working model for our office staff. That’s why, in addition to your 25 days annual leave, we offer the option to purchase additional days—giving you flexibility to take the breaks you need. And because we love celebrating our people, you’ll get your birthday off, completely on us - enjoy your special day, work‑free!
