The Role
They are looking for a Junior Field Engineer. This role is ideally suited to a recent graduate or someone at the early stage of their career who is eager to build upon their technical and interpersonal skills.
You’ll start by supporting senior colleagues in a wide range of activities, gradually building confidence and expertise until you can take ownership of these responsibilities yourself. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to highly technical products, work with leading-edge distributed computing solutions, and contribute directly to real-world defence missions.
What You’ll Do
As you grow into the role, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the sales team in understanding customer needs and objectives.
- Assisting with product demonstrations, showcasing the features and benefits of their technology.
- Helping to design and run proof-of-concept projects that demonstrate the effectiveness of their solutions.
- Providing support in preparing technical documents, proposals, and responses to RFIs/RFQs.
- Collaborating with product and engineering teams, sharing customer feedback to shape the roadmap.
- Assisting with deployment and configuration of our clients\’ technology in customer environments.
- Learning how to embed with customer teams, providing on-site technical support and integration.
Over time, you’ll develop the skills to manage these activities more independently and become the technical voice of the customer within the company.
Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or another technical field.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to different audiences.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve technical challenges.
- Willingness to travel when needed to support customer projects and events.
- A proactive, adaptable attitude — comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine interest in the defence sector (Army, Navy, Air Force, MoD).
Desired (not required):
- Experience with modelling and simulation.
