A global leading Law Firm with offices around the world is seeking a Credit Controller. The role is hybrid, requiring 1-2 days per week in the Leeds Office.

About the Role:

The Credit Controller will be fully remote but will be expected to travel to Leeds on average once or twice per week. The focus will be on maximizing client turnover and minimizing bad debts while working as part of a team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in providing high-level support to the Collections team in a fast-paced environment.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day management of the assigned ledger
  • Understanding how KPIs are set and how best to achieve them
  • Building relationships with partners and fee earners to ensure adherence to the collection policy and escalating any problems to the management team
  • Identifying clients that default on payment terms and liaising with lawyers/partners on appropriate actions
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate notes regarding debtors on the firm's internal system
  • Holding regular meetings with Practice Group Heads and Partners

Experience Needed:

We are looking for candidates with at least 2 years of experience in a fully-fledged Credit Control role, ideally from a professional services background managing a larger ledger with high-value accounts. Desirable skills include:

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and produce quality work within tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and effective negotiation skills with clients and lawyers/partners
  • Able to interact positively at all levels within a law firm and be a team player
  • Confident using MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactivity while being able to follow instructions
  • A 'can do' and proactive approach at all times
