The role of Autism Practitioner is a key MDT member, delivering key activity in our ASD pathway. The post holder will be responsible for administering ADOS-2 assessments and work with a team delivering our ASD services. You will be expected to:

  • Support the children’s department by conducting ADOS-2 assessment as part of the overall autism assessment clinic
  • Co-write high-quality and timely ASD reports together with the Consultant Paediatrician/Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
  • Support the ESDM Specialist with evidence-based early intervention (ESDM, PACT) parent coaching sessions with parents/carers of children with ASD or other developmental differences and document them on the medical record system
  • Support the ESDM Specialist in formulating intervention plans for families and conduct assessments based on Developmental Curriculum
  • Participate in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings as well as in reflective practice group
  • Contribute to the expansion of the children’s department pathways and services
  • Promote the service through engagement with neurodevelopmental publications and charities
  • Support marketing efforts
  • From time to time support the Director of Clinical Services with organizing, running and supporting the overall private clinic
  • Travel to other sites (London and Winchester), clients’ houses, or conduct assessments or sessions remotely

The Candidate

Essential

  • Solid experience (minimum 2 years) working in Paediatric Services
  • Solid experience (minimum 2 years) working in ASD Services
  • Solid experience (minimum 2 years) on delivering ADOS-2 assessments

Desirable

  • Experience of early interventions (ESDM)
  • Experience of formulating interventions for families
  • Experience of expanding children's pathways and services
