About the role
9 month - fixed term contract
The Accounts Payable and Treasury Specialist is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, performing bank reconciliations, supporting payroll activities, and assisting with treasury operations to help ensure accurate and timely payments and effective cash management.
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Manage and execute the full AP cycle, including invoice processing, expense coding, approval workflow management, payment scheduling, and reporting.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's AP systems and processes.
- Set up and maintain direct debits and supplier payment details via online banking systems.
- Take ownership of the invoices inbox and respond to supplier and internal queries promptly.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across the business to ensure invoices are submitted, approved, and processed in a timely manner.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items as required.
- Support audits by preparing documentation, responding to queries, and providing requested information.
- Support budgeting and finance-related projects as required.
- Employee Expense Management
- Monitor adherence to the expense management policy.
- Maintain employee data in the expense system.
- Coordinate the onboarding of new employees into the expense management system, ensuring users complete their profile information and assisting with system setup.
- Review employee expense submissions and follow up on missing information or exceptions.
- Respond to employee queries relating to expenses and reimbursements.
- Payroll
- Contribute to ongoing payroll automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with payroll processing activities, including payroll reconciliations and HMRC submissions.
- Respond to payroll-related employee queries.
- Coordinate with HR and external payroll providers as required.
- Treasury Operations
- Assist with funding activities and the execution of treasury wire payments.
- Issue payment confirmations to counterparties in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support the preparation of basic treasury reports for internal stakeholders.
- Input and maintain accurate data within treasury systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payment queries.
- Support treasury projects, automation initiatives, testing of new functionalities, audit requests, and payment confirmations.
Requirements
- University graduate at the start of their career and/or currently studying towards an accountancy qualification.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel is essential; experience with Microsoft Dynamics365 Business Central would be beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to complete tasks accurately while meeting deadlines.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes, with some familiarity with accounts payable and payroll functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
