About the role
As an Engineering Project Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects from inception to completion. This role involves coordinating with various departments, ensuring project milestones are met, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Your responsibilities:
- Electrical Systems & Compliance: Lead strategy for electrical distribution systems across the site, ensuring compliance with the Electricity at Work Act 1989, addressing obsolescence and energy efficiency. Oversee maintenance and upgrades for reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Project Leadership: Plan, execute, and deliver engineering projects on time and within budget. Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and technical leadership. Make technical decisions and solve complex engineering problems. Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and comply with regulations. Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns. Prepare technical reports, project plans, and presentations for management.
- Controls, Instrumentation & IT: Maintain secure LAN networks for industrial systems; configure servers and IP addressing. Ensure data security and reliability for web-based and LAN-based systems. Develop SCADA/HMI applications and integrate data from multiple sources. Apply programming skills (Visual Basic, C++) and web technologies for process control.
The experience we're looking for:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc.) - Essential
- Proven experience in engineering project management and contractor coordination
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in engineering tools and software
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification
