About the role: As a Maintenance Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, performance, and compliance within a regulated OTC Health environment. You will lead all engineering and reliability activities within the cell, working to achieve zero breakdowns, eliminate recurring losses, and maintain equipment in a validated and compliant state. You’ll partner closely with Cell Leads, Process Leads, Quality, Validation, and Engineering teams to deliver improvements in CAPEX, safety, quality, and productivity. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, requiring strong problem-solving capability, reliability expertise, and the ability to coach and upskill team members.

Your responsibilities:

  • Breakdown Elimination & Reliability Improvement: Own the cell Breakdown Elimination (BDE) system and lead root-cause analysis for major losses. Drive sustainable countermeasures using structured problem-solving tools. Develop and maintain equipment reliability strategies to reduce unplanned downtime. Analyse failure data and loss trees to prioritise improvement initiatives. Ensure technical standards and critical spares strategies are maintained.
  • Maintenance Planning & Scheduling: Lead maintenance planning and scheduling for the cell. Build and maintain preventive maintenance plans aligned to equipment criticality. Ensure effective weekly maintenance schedules and material readiness. Track PM compliance and quality of execution.
  • Zero Loss Mindset: Champion the IWS Zero Loss journey within the cell. Eliminate chronic equipment losses impacting SQDCS metrics. Translate loss intelligence into improvement plans.
  • Engineering Support to Projects: Provide engineering input to CAPEX and productivity projects. Support URS development, design reviews, FAT/SAT, and commissioning. Ensure maintainability and reliability are built into new equipment.
  • Capability Building & Coaching: Train and coach team members in CIL, defect handling, and basic condition monitoring. Build technical capability to enable operator ownership of equipment.
  • Standards, Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS, and engineering standards. Own engineering risk assessments and permit-to-work systems.

The experience we’re looking for: Qualified engineer or equivalent relevant technical experience. Strong background in maintenance planning, scheduling, and equipment reliability. Experience in a regulated environment (GMP/GxP highly desirable). Knowledge of TPM/IWS principles and maintenance excellence frameworks. Proven root-cause analysis capability and experience reducing equipment losses. Strong coaching and leadership skills with the ability to influence across teams. Ability to interpret data, analyse trends, and translate insights into action. Experience supporting engineering projects, commissioning, or CAPEX delivery. Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and process discipline.
