About the role

We’re seeking a proactive Electrical Engineer to join our high-performing team at Reckitt in Derby. In this hands-on role, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining and optimising our high-speed packaging and production lines ensuring our products are manufactured and delivered to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Your responsibilities

  • Support and ensure lines are operating at maximum efficiency to meet production plans and quality standards
  • Lead and coordinate breakdown engineering activities and deliver right-first-time repairs
  • Define, plan, and execute maintenance tasks with timely and effective handovers
  • Complete root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions to reduce downtime
  • Log all maintenance and repair activities accurately into the CMMS system
  • Drive continuous improvement of equipment performance and support new projects
  • Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and quality standards across the work area
  • Contribute to departmental R&M budget control and ensure targets are met
  • Take ownership of your training plan and support team development
  • Participate in internal and external audits and ensure full regulatory compliance

The experience we’re looking for

  • Production line experience on high-speed packaging equipment in FMCG, food, or pharmaceutical sectors
  • Trained to an Electrical minimum craft level; ONC/HND preferred
  • Skilled in fault finding and developing PLC programs (Siemens S5 and S7)
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC inverter drives and electrical systems in hazardous areas (COMPEX preferred)
  • 17th edition qualification advantageous but not essential
  • Mechanical and pneumatic awareness with strong IT skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and react quickly under pressure
  • Background in delivering high performance while leading from the front
  • Analytical mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with GMP and KPI-focused environments
