The Site Electrician plays a critical role in providing expert support to ensure that all factory services and infrastructure operate reliably 365 days a year. The role ensures that all plant, equipment and electrical infrastructure within the assigned areas are maintained to a high standard, compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and relevant safety regulations.
Your responsibilities include:
- Install, maintain and repair electrical systems to BS 7671, EAWR, and site standards.
- Perform inspection, testing, verification and produce accurate certification.
- Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions.
- Work from technical drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, regulatory and cleanroom standards.
- Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation.
- Support apprentices and promote high workmanship standards.
- Contribute to performance targets (MTTR, MTBF, budget control).
The experience we’re looking for includes:
- PC literate; able to use electronic systems.
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship (or equivalent).
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services / Installation.
- Level 3 Inspection & Testing (e.g., C&G 2391).
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience.
- Strong working knowledge of BS 7671; ECS Gold Card preferred.
Desirable (Not Essential):
- PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation and automation.
- Control panel wiring/testing.
- Reading drawings and control schematics.
- Industrial automation or process-control environments.
- ATEX/DSEAR awareness.
- Working with flammable or solvent-based processes.
- CompEx (Ex01–04) or equivalent.
