About the role

Location - Hull, HU8 7DS

Our Junior Buyer supports and fine-tunes procurement activities across key categories enabling efficient cost-effective operations throughout manufacturing. They track and monitor the approval of all contracts, including high risk, and ensure that the Procurement team are always in an audit ready position. Our Junior Buyer plays an important role with regard to organising and presenting project delivery and maintains strong cross function relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities:

  • Conduct procurement operations, from managing contracts across Capex and Opex projects and overseeing timely contract and project execution.
  • Lead, manage, and present projects, contracts, and savings via several types of reporting applications.
  • Build cross functional relationships and partnerships to enable identification of procurement projects.
  • Build relationships and partnerships with suppliers enabling open communication regarding performance and issues.
  • Engage with prospective suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the best value in terms of pricing, quality, and payment terms.
  • Utilise market insights to deliver cost savings.

The experience we’re looking for:

  • Proven background in procurement or a related field with a strong grasp of supply chain operations.
  • Excellent understanding of project and procurement practices.
  • Aptitude for negotiations coupled with solid analytical and strategic project planning abilities.
  • Meticulous and adept at juggling various tasks with a track record of efficiency.
  • Effective communicator across all business levels.
  • High proficiency in MS Suite of applications.
  • Preferably proficient with Procurement software like Ariba and Anaplan.
  • Fluent in English - other languages are desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills.
