About the role
Reporting into the Team Leader, this role involves supporting the running of the Despatch and Production functions, where high quality products are manufactured, packaged and despatched for delivery in accordance with customer service requirements.
It involves working in, and being responsible for ensuring, a safe working manufacturing environment. Protective clothing policies, health and safety and hygiene procedures need to be followed.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-moving Logistics environment (shift working) and as part of a team that takes responsibility for achieving targets.
Your responsibilities
β Contributing to and ensuring Despatch targets are achieved e.g. Pack Fill Rate, Truck Fill
β Accurate loading of finished products on to trailers and containers from picking lists β taking appropriate remedial action if goods are not within specification.
β Receiving finished products from the production lines in a timely fashion so that production is not adversely affected and taking appropriate remedial action if goods are not within specification
β Delivering components to Production lines in a timely fashion so that production is not adversely affected.
β Maintaining documents relating to despatch of finished goods and shift performance e.g. Shift KPIs
β Performance of the Despatch Administration role in the absence of the Despatch Shift Coordinator.
β Operation of the Palletizers and wrapping machines.
β Taking action over non-conformance of products ; where possible identifying and reporting faults with equipment/machinery
β Ensuring adherence to housekeeping and hygiene standards within the work area
β Adhering to site Health and Safety regulations and ensuring H&S procedures are followed to the required standard
β Adhering to site Quality Management System and in particular ensuring the Quality policies and procedures are followed to the required standard relevant to role and work area.
β Participating in audits (carried out by internal auditors and external auditors)
The experience we\βre looking for
β Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a regulated or third-party logistics environment.
β Understanding and appreciation of health and safety in the workplace; relevant qualifications are a plus.
β Competent in using a counterbalance forklift (RTITB) and PPT, with the necessary licences.
β Eagerness to engage with on-the-job training and personal development, including NVQ qualifications.
β Proven ability in inventory management, supply chain processes, and customer service.
