About the role
As a Packaging Technologist you will Manage and execute Packaging activities – to support delivery of Projects including, NPD/EPD, GM, Productivity, Capex Qualification and implementation of new technology to support compliance. Packaging Technical expertise – Understanding packaging manufacturing and supply chain in order to provide technical solutions and resolution of quality issues. Support operations, quality and engineering in the resolution of any issues affecting current business involving packaging components or equipment. You will Work with engineering, validation and operations teams to ensure all equipment and processes within the packaging area are fully validated. Be r esponsible for delivery of assigned projects, including technical execution, management of project costs and timings. Coach and develop packaging technicians to deliver KPIs, improve individual & team capability.
Your responsibilities
– Support resolution of issues affecting current business. Fully conversant with production line operations pertinent to delivering quality, safety and efficiency.
– Support factory troubleshooting that are packaging related such as design, specification, supplier changes.
– Ensure all equipment and processes within packaging area are fully validated. Support validation department in prioritising activity for completion and impact assessment.
– Responsible for scoping and execution of production trials ensuring; scheduling and availability of components, documentation, approvals, sampling/testing, stakeholder relations to ensure functional support.
– Management of packaging projects – co-ordinate activity across functions to flawlessly execute on time in full and on budget.
– Coach and developing packaging Technologists to deliver KPIs. Performance manage Packaging Technicians if assigned / coaching and sharing expertise with team to realise the true potential of the team’s capability, delivering work plans that stretch and ensure development of skills and expertise
– Support delivery of CI for packaging processes and procedures.
The experience we\’re looking for
– Experience in liaising with stakeholders across multiple departments, gaining alignment on project plans and acceptance criteria.
– Validation experience – track record of validating new packaging processes, components and procedures. Knowledge of adopting risk and science based approach to validation (risk assessment tools such as FMEA), identification of acceptance criteria, authoring, executing and writing up validation documentation
– Operations experience – real knowledge of operational challenges and practices, and understanding of technical department’s internal customer
– minimum of 2 years’ experience in pack tech, graphics, print, repro or manufacturing (ops, engineering, quality, technical) background
– Project management / trials experience – experience in planning, coordinating, executing and documenting trial or project activity to set deadlines
– Experience working within high pressure environment, meeting tight deadlines
