About the role:
Our Global Technology Engineer will focus on the development and deployment of our printing, vision inspection and check-weighing global asset standards for common production equipment within the Reckitt group, across all categories and geographies. They will provide technical leadership, expertise, and support for equipment and systems related to packing inspection technologies, packing printers, serialisation/UDI solutions and checkweighers, and own standardisation of equipment and vendor pool to leverage cost, lead time, efficiency and best practices. They will support compliant, reliable, and efficient operation of packaging systems in line with regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP, FDA, MHRA, EU FMD) and other business objectives.
Your responsibilities:
- Engage cross-functional technical SMEs to set common standards for the related production equipment across categories and geographies.
- Embed equipment standardisation within the CAPEX process to ensure equipment purchases follow process.
- Engage procurement to develop a vendor pool for printing, vision and check-weighing equipment, assisting in tender processes if required.
- Collaborate with vendors, system integrators, and IT/OT teams for new installations and upgrades.
- Develop URSs and standards for equipment ensuring performance improvement and deploy across the business.
- Ensure these are aligned to Reckitt and regulatory technical requirements.
- Provide technical advice through maintained up-to-date industry knowledge on packing inspection systems.
- Becoming the SME on projects and equipment.
- Delivery and assisting in delivery of key business Capex projects.
- Provide key technical expertise to support and lead writing and reviewing URS, vendor selection, OEM progress monitoring, factory and site acceptance testing (FAT and SAT) support in support of Site Capital Engineering teams.
- Review performance and KPI’s for key OEMs.
- In collaboration with RPS and Reliability Engineering monitor equipment performance, reliability, and compliance and link to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide advice on the implementation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of track and trace, UDI, serialisation and aggregation systems in conjunction with IT.
- Ability to navigate cross-functional and cross-regional complexity.
- Understanding and preferably working knowledge of track and trace systems and regulations.
- Willingness to travel as required.
