About the role:
Our Electrical Shift Technicians ensure that all items of plant and equipment, within their areas of responsibility, are maintained to the appropriate standard ensuring that performance is safe, reliable and in accordance with the principles of Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP). They also have a focus on continually improving performance of equipment and/or systems to support the development of our manufacturing facility contributing to meeting customer service, quality and cost targets.
Your responsibilities:
- Understand the maintenance requirements in the area, and ensure that maintenance is delivered using a proactive, responsive, customer focused approach with effective application of the maintenance system and good engineering practice.
- Agree preventative maintenance plans, routine remedial action, machine design modifications, and operating & changeover procedures with Manufacturing Maintenance and Operations teams.
- Ensure appropriate resources, assets and time are available for the application of a systematic approach to Electrical Engineering Maintenance which uses performance indicators to routinely deliver targets and drive performance improvement.
- All items of plant and equipment are maintained to the appropriate standards to ensure their performance is safe, reliable and in accordance with the principles of cGMP.
- Monitor plant operational efficiency, reliability and capability of all plant and equipment, identifying areas of under-performance or opportunity and implement plans to deliver improvement.
- Participate effectively in daily/weekly maintenance review and planning meetings.
- Ensure that a uniform approach to maintenance is implemented across shifts.
- Monitor and control maintenance spend to meet annual budgets and ensure value for money is obtained.
- Diagnose and rectify problems with manufacturing equipment and systems following a RCA approach.
- Ensure maintenance works planned to minimise impact on production operations and have no impact on customer service.
- Use the CMMS Maximo system and resource to ensure that all agreed maintenance and improvement work is completed.
- Comply with maintenance systems and procedures, including those regarding Health and Safety, Environment and Quality.
The experience we're looking for:
- Apprentice trained in an electrical engineering discipline, through a recognised accredited body.
- HNC or BTECH 3/5 in electrical production maintenance engineering.
- Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing systems.
- Management of multiple concurrent priorities and issues.
- An understanding of related controls and instrumentation systems would be an advantage.
- Experience in dealing with people at all levels of expertise, with the ability to communicate skilfully with people at their level of understanding.
- Preferably should have practical experience in operation and maintenance of large multi-purpose facilities ideally within the Pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing process and cGMP requirements and their criticality to the product quality.
