About the role
As a
Maintenance Lead , you will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, performance, and compliance within a regulated OTC Health environment.
You will lead all engineering and reliability activities within the cell, working to achieve zero breakdowns, eliminate recurring losses, and maintain equipment in a validated and compliant state.
You’ll partner closely with Cell Leads, Process Leads, Quality, Validation, and Engineering teams to deliver improvements in CAPEX, safety, quality, and productivity.
This is a hands‑on technical leadership role, requiring strong problem‑solving capability, reliability expertise, and the ability to coach and upskill team members.

- Your responsibilities
- Breakdown Elimination & Reliability Improvement
- Own the cell Breakdown Elimination (BDE) system and lead root‑cause analysis for major losses.
- Drive sustainable countermeasures using structured problem‑solving tools.
- Develop and maintain equipment reliability strategies to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Analyse failure data and loss trees to prioritise improvement initiatives.
- Ensure technical standards and critical spares strategies are maintained.
- Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Lead maintenance planning and scheduling for the cell.
- Build and maintain preventive maintenance plans aligned to equipment criticality.
- Ensure effective weekly maintenance schedules and material readiness.
- Track PM compliance and quality of execution.
- Champion the IWS Zero Loss journey within the cell.
- Eliminate chronic equipment losses impacting SQDCS metrics.
- Translate loss intelligence into improvement plans.
- Engineering Support to Projects
- Provide engineering input to CAPEX and productivity projects.
- Support URS development, design reviews, FAT/SAT, and commissioning.
- Ensure maintainability and reliability are built into new equipment.
- Capability Building & Coaching
- Train and coach team members in CIL, defect handling, and basic condition monitoring.
- Build technical capability to enable operator ownership of equipment.
- Standards, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS, and engineering standards.
- Own engineering risk assessments and permit‑to‑work systems.
- The experience we're looking for
- Qualified engineer or equivalent relevant technical experience.
- Strong background in maintenance planning, scheduling, and equipment reliability.
- Experience in a regulated environment (GMP/Gx P highly desirable).
- Knowledge of TPM/IWS principles and maintenance excellence frameworks.
- Proven root‑cause analysis capability and experience reducing equipment losses.
- Strong coaching and leadership skills with the ability to influence across teams.
- Ability to interpret data, analyse trends, and translate insights into action.
- Experience supporting engineering projects, commissioning, or CAPEX delivery.
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and process discipline.
