The R&D Category Formulation Associate will be responsible for developing and delivering product formulations within the Pain category. You will thrive in our fast-paced environment and will be working alongside expert scientists who are dedicated to ensuring product safety and efficacy. They take ownership of projects for Nurofen and other Pain brands – from early concept through to factory scale-up, ensuring technical feasibility, compliance with regulations, and alignment with consumer and performance criteria.
Responsibilities:
- Own projects within the category innovation pipeline from concept to factory scale-up.
- Develop formulations aligned with technical, consumer, and performance criteria.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D teams and external partners for ideation, benchmarking, and technical feasibility.
- Manage technical risks and ensure compliance with regulations, quality, and safety standards.
- Drive product development milestones and technology transfer using QbD principles.
- Support IP creation and competitive intelligence activities.
- Provide technical leadership, translating complex information for non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to team development and build technical knowledge within the category.
Qualifications:
- Experience in an R&D laboratory environment, preferably within formulation; analytical experience will also be considered.
- Proven track record of independently leading R&D projects, preferably within an OTC environment, with experience collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Relevant scientific discipline (e.g., pharma, medical, biology).
- Experience delivering development projects (experience within an OTC healthcare environment an advantage).
- Capability to define, evaluate, and communicate risks and associated mitigation plans.
- Communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to build strong networks across a matrix organisation.
