The Jamie Oliver Cookery School is all about unleashing your inner chef. Since The Jamie Oliver Cookery School opened back in 2016, our expert teaching chefs have taught more than 100,000 participants in Jamie's relaxed, signature style. Our in-person and online classes are suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to confident cooks. We are now recruiting for a Senior Teaching Chef to support our Cookery Schools in London. The successful candidates will be able to work in and around Central London including our current Jamie Oliver Cookery School based in North London.

WHAT YOU'RE HERE TO DO

  • You will lead by example, and support the rest of the team to consistently follow your lead.
  • Demonstrating how excellent classes and shifts are run.
  • Embody our working culture; a love of food, passion for experiences, and commitment to hard teamwork.
  • Inspire your team to learn and grow as much as possible.
  • Create new classes that deliver an exciting, inspiring and tasty experience.
  • Always consider how existing classes can be improved.
  • Support the Head Chef in identifying gaps in knowledge & skills across the team such as food knowledge, skill & techniques, communication & teaching, hosting & hospitality, or the overall experience.
  • Ensure the team has required knowledge of our food safety and health & safety standards.

WHAT A SENIOR TEACHING CHEF NEEDS TO KNOW

  • The Senior Teaching Chef will have demonstrable leadership and management skills.
  • You’ll have experience teaching in cookery schools.
  • Be organised and adaptable, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Be obsessed with food, passionate about people and a fantastic communicator, and organiser.
  • The busiest time of our school is weekends and evenings and candidates will work on a rota basis working 48 hours per week.
