They are seeking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to join their dynamic team, who would be responsible for supporting a range of sectors with expert guidance on legal compliance, contract negotiations, and risk management.

About the Commercial Manager Role:

As a Commercial Manager, you will play a key advisory role to group companies, ensuring commercial arrangements are robust, legally sound, and aligned with our risk management strategies. You will work closely with senior leadership, legal counsel, and operational teams to drive value, protect the business, and support strategic decision-making. Plus, be responsible for end-to-end commercial governance, including contract negotiation, risk management, claims strategy and financial performance. Ensuring the local team can safely deliver complex projects while protecting margin and managing risk exposure. Working full-time Monday to Friday on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities of the Commercial Manager:

  • Provide expert advice on commercial strategy, for major local projects.
  • Lead and support the negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements, including supplier, customer, and partnership contracts.
  • Negotiate with clients, customers and suppliers to agree standard terms and conditions.
  • Ensure robust commercial control from bid through to project close out, ensuring Project Managers adhere to contractual obligations.
  • Lead management of resolving disputes, claims, and litigation in collaboration with wider Commercial team.
  • Provide ongoing commercial support of project risks and opportunities.
  • Dealing with insurance claims and audit trails for claims.
  • Support the project managers to ensure the insurances and all compliance is in place and followed correctly.

Skills and Competencies for a Commercial Manager:

  • Proven experience in a similar commercial/legal advisory role, ideally in a group or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, commercial agreements, and risk management principles.
  • Strong commercial contract experience.
