Assistant Accountant

RECfinancial are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join a fantastic well known Leicester based business. Working on a Fixed Term Contract for six month placement, on a hybrid working pattern full-time 37.5 hours per week.

This role requires ownership of various tasks within the General Ledger, and support with any ad hoc duties within the Finance department. The successful applicant will be an integral member of the Finance department, and support to Finance Directors, becoming an active resource helping to ease the inevitable pressure points and requirements of the business.

Main Responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant role:

Prepare and analyse monthly and quarterly management accounts, financial statements, and reports for all departments.

Support in the preparation and maintenance of the balance sheet reconciliations.

Management and timely completion of bank reconciliations.

Provide support to the Sales and Purchase Ledger Teams

Resolving Customer queries

Monthly production of Customer Statements

Presentation of Month End Debtors position

Provide back up for importing of Sales Invoicing onto Accounting system

Assisting with One off suppliers

Ownership of weekly supplier payment run

Reconciliation of supplier statements and monitor payment requirements to ensure all necessary approvals are received.

Skills and experience:

Part Qualified (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.

Previous experience working within the manufacturing industry is desirable but isn\’t essential.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Organised and flexible, enthusiastic and self-motivated

Happy and able to work alone or in a team as required
