Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Refurbishment and Regeneration Division in Hertfordshire. This is a key senior position within the Pre-Construction team, responsible for leading tenders across framework agreements, negotiated schemes, and single-stage competitive tenders, while supporting the Head of Pre-Construction and mentoring junior estimators. The role offers flexible hybrid working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of tenders for framework, negotiated, and single-stage competitive projects
  • Price framework call-off schemes, ensuring commercially robust and competitive submissions
  • Prepare detailed cost plans and estimates from first principles for single-stage tenders
  • Attend pre-construction and tender strategy meetings
  • Visit sites to assess scope, risks, and constraints
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
  • Coordinate design team and supply chain input to achieve cost-effective solutions
  • Prepare accurate take-offs in line with standard methods of measurement
  • Manage subcontractor enquiries, analyse and level tender returns
  • Prepare preliminaries, overheads, and design cost allowances
  • Attend client and internal tender meetings and presentations
  • Lead tender handovers and provide clear commercial briefings to delivery teams
  • Mentor junior estimators and support team development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
