The Role Our client is seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Hertfordshire and to visit sites in East London / Essex. The successful candidate will work on a long-term 10-year planned works framework, providing commercial support across a stable portfolio of social housing refurbishment and maintenance projects. This role offers broad commercial responsibility and is ideally suited to a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career, with a clear pathway to progress into a Senior Quantity Surveyor position. The position also offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, combining office, site and home-based working. Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Manage the commercial aspects of planned works projects from procurement through to final account * Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost plans and financial forecasts * Produce and submit valuations, variations and payment applications * Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts * Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to maximise value and minimise risk * Administer contracts in accordance with company procedures and client requirements * Prepare accurate commercial reports for senior management * Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget and programme * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners * Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the successful delivery of the long-term framework Ideal Candidate: * Experience working on planned maintenance, refurbishment or social housing projects is highly desirable * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial management software * A proactive and ambitious approach, with the desire to progress into a Senior Quantity Surveyor role
