We are currently seeking Technical Designers to join a leading workplace design and fit-out company. We are currently working with one of the UK’s most established commercial interior specialists, delivering high-profile workplace projects across London and the UK. They have been established for over 40 years and are recognised for delivering award-winning office fit-out and refurbishment schemes for a wide range of corporate clients. They are looking to grow their design team with the addition of a Technical Designer who will work closely with Design Managers, Project Managers, consultants, and delivery teams to develop and coordinate technical drawing packages across multiple workplace projects. The role will involve producing detailed construction drawings, coordinating design information, supporting project delivery on-site, and ensuring all schemes are technically compliant and buildable. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle from concept through to completion. We are looking for individuals with experience within commercial workplace interiors, office fit-out, or design-and-build environments. They are open to speaking with both established Technical Designers and individuals looking to step up into a more senior technical role.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed technical drawing packages, construction drawings, and coordinated design documentation
- Develop space planning layouts and technical detailing for workplace interior projects
- Coordinate architectural, mechanical, electrical, and furniture information within project documentation
- Ensure all drawings comply with current UK Building Regulations, accessibility standards, and CDM requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, consultants, and suppliers to ensure buildability and technical accuracy
- Support design development from concept through technical delivery and construction phases
- Attend client meetings, site visits, contractor workshops, and coordination reviews
- Review site conditions and resolve technical design issues during project delivery
- Assist with material specifications, finishes, and detailing solutions
- Maintain drawing standards, document control, and design quality throughout all project stages
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the design and technical delivery process
