The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Planner or Planner to join the pre-construction and project delivery team. This role is particularly suited to someone with an operations background whether you are currently working as a Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager, Section Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Manager who is looking to transition into a planning career. You will work alongside experienced planners, gaining exposure to projects from tender stage through to completion while learning how to develop and manage construction programmes. Your practical site knowledge will be invaluable in producing realistic programmes, sequencing works, identifying risks, and supporting project teams throughout the construction lifecycle. Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in producing and updating tender and construction programmes using planning software
  • Work closely with project teams to develop realistic construction sequences and delivery strategies

  • Attend site visits and planning meetings to gather progress information and support programme updates
  • Help prepare short-term and long-term programmes, phasing plans, and logistics plans

  • Contribute to programme improvements and identify opportunities to increase efficiency throughout project delivery

Qualifications and experience (Ideal but not essential):

  • Hold a university degree in a construction related subject
  • Has a good understanding of health and safety, environment and sustainability requirements for construction projects
  • Experience using ASTA Powerproject or MS Project
