Its work spans roofing, external building works, internal refurbishment and property maintenance, including programmes for local authorities, housing associations and main contractors. The Opportunity Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support its commercial team across a varied portfolio of construction and refurbishment projects. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the commercial lifecycle, working alongside experienced surveyors and project teams to help manage costs, procurement, subcontractor accounts and financial reporting. The role would suit an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to build their experience within a practical, delivery-focused construction environment. Key Responsibilities * Support the commercial management of roofing, refurbishment and property improvement projects. * Assist with subcontractor procurement, tender analysis and package comparisons. * Prepare and maintain cost reports, budgets, forecasts and commercial records. * Assist with valuations, applications for payment and subcontractor account management. * Monitor variations, additional works and changes to project scope. * Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts. * Work closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors and suppliers to monitor project costs and progress. * Identify commercial risks and opportunities, helping ensure works are delivered within budget. * Maintain accurate records and ensure commercial documentation is kept up to date. About You * Previous experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor role within construction. * A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, or currently working towards one. * An understanding of subcontract procurement, valuations, cost control and commercial reporting. * Strong numerical, organisational and communication skills. * A proactive approach with a genuine interest in developing a career in commercial management. * A full UK driving licence would be beneficial where project travel is required
