We are recruiting on behalf of a major UK Main Contractor with an impressive group turnover exceeding £700 million. With over 25 years of successful delivery, the business has established trusted long-term partnerships and boasts a substantial order book and a strong pipeline of upcoming projects nationwide.

You will be joining the specialist business unit focused on refurbishment schemes across London and the South East. Projects span both public and private sectors, delivering for local authorities, housing associations, and institutional clients. Their portfolio includes residential developments, education facilities, regeneration projects, student accommodation, leisure centres, retirement living and extra care schemes, with project values ranging from £5m to over £100m.

This division is supported by a high-performing senior management team with exceptional credentials and a reputation for delivering quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

The Role – Site Manager

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee SHDF (Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund) works, with future progression into recladding and external refurbishment projects.

Experience in SHDF delivery is desirable but not essential. What is essential is demonstrable experience managing occupied properties, with a strong ability to engage with residents professionally and respectfully.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day site operations on retrofit, decarbonisation, and external refurbishment schemes
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to specification
  • Liaise closely with residents in occupied properties, handling concerns and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate subcontractors, logistics and materials
  • Maintain accurate site records, progress reporting and compliance documentation
  • Uphold health & safety, quality control and environmental standards
  • Work collaboratively with clients, consultants and internal teams

About You:

  • Experience delivering refurbishment, retrofit, energy efficiency, or external envelope projects
  • Confident working in occupied residential settings
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Solid understanding of construction processes and compliance obligations
  • Able to lead teams effectively and drive programme performance
  • SHDF experience is advantageous but not required
