Reports to: SHEQ Manager

Our client, a well-established main contractor operating throughout London and the Southeast with a turnover of around Β£50 million, is seeking a proactive Quality Manager to join their team. Known for delivering high-quality construction, refurbishment, and regeneration projects across sectors including Residential, Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Heritage, and Public Spaces, they work with a diverse range of public and private clients such as government departments, local authorities, housing associations, and schools.

The Opportunity

The Quality Manager will be integral in managing, coordinating, and improving quality management systems across multiple projects. Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, this role ensures compliance with the Building Safety Act, ISO standards, and other regulatory requirements, while mentoring quality teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quality management practices and systems on diverse construction projects
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality policies
  • Collaborate on continual improvement initiatives aligned with ISO 9001 and Building Safety Act
  • Deliver training on Fire Safety and Building Safety competencies to internal and external teams
  • Liaise with regulators, auditors, clients, and supply chain partners to maintain standards
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and manage quality risk proactively
  • Mentor and guide the SHEQ Advisor – Quality Lead to build a strong quality-driven culture
  • Support management system accreditation and reporting
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and consultants

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Qualified in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor or equivalent)
  • Member of MCIOB or similar Construction Management qualification
  • Experienced with ISO 9001:2015 auditing and compliance
  • Holds CSCS Professionally Qualified Person and SMSTS certifications
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction and quality assurance principles
  • Excellent communicator with ability to engage all levels of the business
  • Analytical, proactive, and adaptable leader with a passion for quality and safety
  • Skilled at relationship-building and managing multiple priorities
