The Opportunity An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estimator to join an established construction contractor, working on a diverse portfolio of projects valued up to £70 million. The project portfolio encompasses both new-build and refurbishment schemes, including cut-and-carve, structural alterations, extensions and complex redevelopment projects across a range of sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in the pre-construction process, developing competitive tenders and providing accurate cost advice from initial enquiry through to submission. Working closely with pre-construction, commercial and operational teams, you will contribute to tender strategy, identify commercial risks and opportunities, and help secure new projects. Key Responsibilities * Lead the preparation and submission of tenders for construction schemes valued up to £70m. * Price a varied portfolio of new-build, refurbishment, cut-and-carve and redevelopment projects. * Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to establish project scope and pricing requirements. * Prepare detailed estimates, cost plans, quantity take-offs and pricing schedules. * Obtain, analyse and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations. * Identify commercial risks, opportunities, exclusions and value-engineering options. * Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the tender process. * Work collaboratively with pre-construction, commercial and operational teams to develop competitive bids. * Manage multiple tender deadlines and ensure submissions are accurate and commercially robust. * Attend tender reviews and support the handover of successful projects to delivery teams. About You * Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or experienced Estimator within the construction industry. * Experience pricing projects across a mix of new-build and refurbishment works, ideally including cut-and-carve schemes. * Exposure to sectors such as commercial, residential, mixed-use, education, healthcare or other complex building projects. * Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement, subcontract packages and cost planning. * Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and complex tender requirements. * Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to identify and manage project risks. * Confident negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing. * Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills. * Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
