We are currently collaborating with a company that undertakes carpentry and joinery works throughout London & the Southeast of England since the 90s.

The annual turnover of the company has grown consistently year on year, and they have a proven track record of delivering structural timber, reception fit out, bespoke door sets, Glazed timber screens, fire & acoustic screens and staircase design & installation.

Design Manager / Technical Coordinator (Specialist Joinery & Fit Out)

Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Design Manager to join their team in Hertfordshire to work on multiple projects concurrently.

The ideal candidate will have experience with carpentry, specialist joinery and washroom fit-out systems as well as the ability to navigate & upload to multiple client portals, understanding of client uploading protocols.

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Project Delivery & Coordination
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead the design coordination process from project inception through to client review, approval and design sign-off.
  • Managing project programmes, deliverables and deadlines effectively.
  • Responsible for the accurate filing, storage and maintenance of project information and records.
  • Ensure project documentation is regularly updated, traceable and stored in accordance with company and client requirements.
  • Maintain organised project records and support compliance with document control procedures.
  • Industry Knowledge & Experience
  • Demonstrable construction industry knowledge, including details of relevant training, qualifications and professional background.
  • Working knowledge of construction processes, detailing, coordination and installation requirements.
  • Awareness of CDM Regulations and Building Regulations, with an understanding of their application throughout the design and construction process.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in architecture, interior design, construction management, engineering, joinery design, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications, memberships or accreditations relevant to the role.

Key Skills

  • Proficiency in Auto CAD, Revit and 3D modelling software.
  • Experience working within BIM environments and coordinating BIM models.
  • Understanding of BIM standards, protocols and information management procedures.
  • Ability to navigate and manage document control requirements across multiple client platforms, including Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), Asite and similar systems.
  • Competence in uploading, managing and maintaining project information in accordance with client-specific protocols and procedures.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate consultants, contractors and client stakeholders.
