Junior Buyer

Our client Our client is a main contractor, specialising in both Design and Build & Traditional Build schemes across Residential and Commercial sectors. About the Role As a Junior Buyer you will play a crucial role in supporting our procurement team. You will be involved in a variety of tasks, from sourcing materials to negotiating contracts. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the construction industry and develop your procurement skills. Key Responsibilities: * Source and Select Suppliers: Research and identify potential suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and services. * Request for Quotations (RFQs): Prepare and issue RFQs to selected suppliers, ensuring clear specifications and timelines. * Negotiate Contracts: Participate in negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best possible terms and conditions. * Purchase Orders: Create and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. * Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. * Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to avoid stockouts and overstocking. * Cost Control: Contribute to cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for price reductions and efficient procurement practices. * Compliance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations. Required Skills and Qualifications: * A relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field. * Strong negotiation and communication skills. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). * A keen eye for detail and accuracy. * A proactive and problem-solving approach. * Minimum 1 years’ experience in a buying position, ideally construction.
