The Company
Our client is a well-established specialist contractor delivering Refurbishments, New Build, Fit-Outs, Restoration, and M&E services across the Private, Public, and Social Housing sectors. Operating successfully for over 10 years, the business has built a reputation for delivering projects to the highest standards of quality and safety. With a leadership team bringing over 30 years of industry experience, they have developed strong, long-standing relationships with their supply chain and partners — enabling them to deliver projects exceeding £1 million in value. Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of maintenance and refurbishment works, they are now seeking a highly organised and driven Maintenance Manager to join their team based in Essex.
The Role
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for coordinating trades and technicians across a broad range of maintenance and minor works projects, ranging in value from £100 to £80,000. Works will vary and include:
- Replacement of vinyl wrapping
- Roofing repairs
- Small demolitions, including garages
- General building repairs
- Minor refurbishments
- Planned and reactive maintenance works
You will manage projects from instruction through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and scheduling trades and subcontractors
- Managing multiple live projects simultaneously
- Reviewing, negotiating, and approving quotations
- Monitoring budgets and controlling costs
- Carrying out site inspections and quality checks
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations
- Liaising with clients, tenants, suppliers, and internal teams
- Providing regular progress updates to senior management
- Resolving on-site issues efficiently
About You
- Experience in a Maintenance Manager, Works Manager, or similar role
- Background in construction, refurbishment, or property maintenance
- Strong technical understanding of multiple trades
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Commercially aware and cost-focused
- Full UK driving licence
