We are currently partnering with a trusted main contractor specialising in the residential sector. Their expertise spans mixed-tenure housing developments, multi-sector residential solutions, and comprehensive building safety remediation works, including assessment, recladding, and internal refurbishment.
Although recently established, the company has achieved remarkable growth, having already secured 80% of its projected 2026 turnover. With a strong pipeline and expanding client base, they are on track to reach a £50 million turnover by 2028. The Role
Due to continued growth, the company is seeking an experienced Bid Writer / Writing Bid Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end bid process and play a key role in securing work across the residential and building safety sectors. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience producing winning submissions for Housing Associations, Local Authorities, and wider public sector clients, including framework and regulated procurement environments. This is a hands-on role with genuine influence, working closely with senior leadership, commercial, pre-construction, and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full bid lifecycle from PQQ/EOI through to final submission
- Write, edit, and coordinate high-quality, client-focused bid responses
- Produce compliant and compelling submissions for Housing Association, Local Authority, and public sector tenders
- Develop and maintain a bid library including standard responses, case studies, and CVs
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather technical, commercial, and delivery input
- Identify win themes and tailor responses to client drivers and evaluation criteria
- Ensure all submissions meet compliance, quality, and deadline requirements
- Continuously improve bid processes, content, and presentation standards
About You
- Proven experience as a Bid Writer or Bid Manager within the construction sector
- Strong track record of writing bids for Housing Associations, Local Authorities, and public sector clients
- Experience with frameworks, regulated procurement, and quality-based evaluations
- Excellent written communication and editing skills
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and technical teams
- Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of compliance and governance
