The Role

Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of upcoming projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Estimator to join the pre-construction team. You will play a key role in the estimating process across a range of projects, working closely with the design and delivery teams to ensure accurate cost planning and competitive tender submissions. This is a hands-on position, ideal for an experienced estimator who enjoys being actively involved in the details while also contributing to strategic tendering and business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for design & build projects across multiple sectors
  • Lead the tender process, including take-offs, pricing, and bid submissions
  • Collaborate with design, project management, and commercial teams during pre-construction stages
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures
  • Assess and manage risks throughout the estimating process
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, suppliers, and subcontractor pricing
  • Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement within the pre-construction department

About You

  • Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment
  • Strong background in Design & Build and pre-construction across various sectors (Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Mixed-Use)
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Proficient with estimating software and Excel
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive, hands-on approach
