Recann is working with a technology consultancy that has been awarded a multi-year digital transformation programme for a leading UK gym chain. The programme focuses on building a new, greenfield mobile platform to support member experience at national scale.
The role involves acting as the Technical Lead, working closely with the client’s senior technology stakeholders and an offshore senior engineer. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical judgement, pace, and ownership.
Key responsibilities:- Lead the design and delivery of a greenfield application for member experience
- Own backend architecture with a focus on security, performance, and scalability
- Build an abstraction layer over a legacy member CRM, owning data rather than relying solely on APIs
- Drive product and technical requirements with senior client stakeholders
- Lead stand-ups and day-to-day delivery for a two-person team initially
- Make independent implementation decisions while collaborating on major architectural choices
- Support recruitment as the team grows to 3–4 senior engineers
- Champion modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, code quality, and GenAI-assisted development

- Positive, energetic, and delivery-focused approach
- Open to long-term programme work rather than short project cycles
- Fully remote within the UK
