This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist setting known for its inspirational teaching, exceptional pupil outcomes, and commitment to staff development and wellbeing.

The Role: KS3 ASD Specialist

You will be responsible for leading a small, well-resourced class of pupils, primarily within Key Stage 3, who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated complex needs. You will be ably supported by a dedicated team of experienced Teaching Assistants (TAs). This role requires a practitioner who is passionate about inclusive education and skilled in creating a structured, nurturing, and highly engaging environment that promotes both academic and personal development.

  • Team Collaboration: Effectively direct and collaborate with your class TAs, ensuring a consistent and supportive learning experience. Work closely with the SENCO and wider therapeutic team.
  • Pastoral Support: Implement positive behaviour support strategies and interventions to support pupils' emotional regulation, social communication, and independence.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of pupil progress and contribute constructively to annual review meetings.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven teaching experience within a UK school setting.
  • Essential SEN Experience: Significant, recent experience teaching pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs. Experience within Key Stage 3 is highly desirable.
