RECfinancial is working with a well established Leicestershire based Accountancy Practice to recruit an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join their growing Finance team. This is a fabulous opportunity for an experienced candidate to showcase their skills. This historical organisation is professional, traditional yet modern and friendly, offering hybrid working after probation. The business focuses on the well-being of its staff, with the role positioned centrally within the business. The business has seen significant growth and is located in Leicester, easily accessible by car from surrounding areas. The role reports directly to the Senior Manager and covers key support from day-to-day management accounts to cash flow forecasting. It requires a hands-on, initiative-driven professional. There is no pressure regarding year-end financials or tax; the focus is on the fun aspects.
Previous experience in management accounts, cash flow forecasts, budgeting and the use of Xero is essential; the client is open to candidates from all sectors, and AAT qualified candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients and build strong working relationships
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Analyse financial performance and provide clear commentary
- Prepare cash flow forecasts, budgets and financial projections
- Process journals and period-end adjustments (accruals, prepayments, depreciation)
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Review accounting records and resolve queries
- Support and mentor junior team members
- Contribute to process improvements and the use of cloud accounting technology
Qualifications
- AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting/bookkeeping
- Strong systems knowledge including Xero, Sage, Dext and Excel
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
