RECfinancial are supporting an established Engineering company based in South Leicestershire, to appoint a Full‑Time Finance Officer to join their existing team on a permanent basis. Our client is seeking a fully motivated and detail‑driven Finance Officer to support the financial operation across the business. Working alongside a busy finance function this is a great opportunity to develop and grow within a professional dynamic team environment. Commutable from Leicester, Lutterworth, Hinckley, Nuneaton and Leicestershire.
THE ROLE – FINANCE OFFICER ROLE
Reporting into the wider Finance Team, the successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening financial controls, and providing meaningful financial insight to support decision making. This role also includes line management responsibility for the Finance Administrator, offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership skills within a collaborative, project focused environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FINANCE OFFICER ROLE:
- Maintain accurate financial records across projects and business operations
- Support month-end processes, audits and compliance with financial policies and accounting standards
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, debtors and support debt management activities
- Support various project managers with cost-to-complete and financial insight
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost control and variance reporting
- Process and reconcile accounts payable, receivable, supplier statements and credit cards
- Manage supplier payment runs, expense approvals and purchasing activities (POs, suppliers, compliance records)
- Support payroll processing, expense checks and HR-related finance activities
- Provide line management to the Finance Administrator, including workload planning, performance management and development
- Act as escalation point for finance or compliance issues
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills and Sage 50
- Good transactional skills and reconciliations
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience within a Finance or accounts role.
