Overview
RECfinancial are shortlisting for a well‑established Leicestershire‑based organisation that is recruiting an experienced Payroll Manager on a permanent full‑time basis.
This role is ideal for someone currently working in payroll, particularly from an advisory point of view, and will report to the HR/Office Manager.
Applicants should be able to commute from Leicester, Whetstone, Blaby, Enderby or greater Leicestershire.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the go‑to payroll expert for all clients.
- Maintain exceptional service standards and manage client expectations.
- Lead onboarding, including system setup, data migration and process design.
- Deliver software demos and provide support.
- Build trusted, long‑term client relationships and resolve complex queries.
- Own payroll delivery and oversee multiple payroll cycles (weekly, fortnightly, monthly).
- Ensure all payrolls are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
- Review complex calculations (statutory payments, terminations, adjustments).
- Work onsite with clients, resolving payroll issues or acting as cover.
- Manage annual fee reviews and pricing discussions with confidence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll position.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll and HMRC legislation.
- Experience managing a team and multiple client payrolls.
- Excellent client‑facing communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage fees and client relationships.
- A proactive leader who enjoys improving processes and developing people.
