RECfinancial are supporting a long established construction company based in North Leicestershire, to appoint a Part-Time Payroll Clerk to join their existing team on a permanent basis. This new Payroll Clerk role has the ability to be varied and challenging, where the successful applicant would be working amongst a fantastic internal finance team. Our opportunity would suit someone wishing to develop their Payroll skillset looking after weekly payroll for an ever growing employee base. Commutable from Leicester, Swadlincote, Coalville and Leicestershire.
THE ROLE – PART-TIME PAYROLL CLERK
The job role will be looking after the full payroll cycle working alongside the finance director, processing weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time. Ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations and payroll legislation, handling employee queries regarding payslips, tax codes, pensions, and deductions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PART-TIME PAYROLL CLERK ROLE:
- Maintain payroll records using Sage Payroll 50, Sage HR, and People HR
- Check and validate timesheets, overtime, and additional payments
- Manage starters, leavers, salary changes, and statutory payments
- Reconcile payroll reports and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain strict confidentiality and GDPR compliance and liaise with HR
- Support payroll audits and any reporting requirements
- Prepare and export payroll data using Excel and Sage Payroll
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills and Sage 50
- Experience with payroll systems and reporting
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
