Job Description

Engineering Recruitment Consultant West Yorkshire £35,000£40,000 + Uncapped Commission If you've built your reputation recruiting into welding and fabrication, mechanical assembly or machine operations, you'll know how few consultancies genuinely understand this market.

This one does, and they're looking for an experienced engineering recruiter to take a key desk within a well-established West Yorkshire branch.

What's on offer £35,000£40,000 basic salary, genuinely negotiable on experience and track record.

Uncapped commission.

An established desk with live engineering clients and repeat business, not a cold start.

Autonomy to run your desk your way, no micromanagement, no pointless KPIs for the sake of it.

A respected, long-standing brand name that gets your calls returned.

Company benefits package.

A settled, experienced team with a hardworking but flexible culture.

The role You'll take ownership of a busy engineering desk supplying skilled trades and operatives including welders, fabricators, mechanical assemblers, machine operators and similar into manufacturing and engineering businesses across West Yorkshire.

This is a full 360 role for someone who knows the sector inside out: Managing and developing an existing portfolio of engineering and manufacturing clients.

Winning new business across a market you already understand.

Sourcing, vetting and placing skilled candidates, you'll know a good coded welder when you see one, and your clients will trust your judgement because of it.

Delivering the kind of consistent, knowledgeable service that turns one-off vacancies into long-term accounts.

Who this suits This is not a trainee or step-up role.

The client wants someone who can demonstrate: Proven engineering recruitment experience, with real, evidenced achievements recruiting within welding/fabrication, mechanical assembly, machine operations or closely related disciplines.

A track record of billings you're happy to talk through, the salary range exists because they'll pay properly for proven performance.

Genuine technical credibility where you can hold a conversation about the difference between MIG and TIG, understand what a client means by "time-served," and qualify candidates properly.

The ability to run a busy 360 desk independently, so managing your own time across sales, service and delivery is key.

High standards and strong communication as this is a business built on reputation, and they protect it.

Ambition for a long-term move.

This is a career desk, not a stopgap.

Why make the move?

Because engineering desks like this don't come up often.

Most consultancies treat industrial and engineering as one generic desk but this client has invested in the sector properly, built genuine relationships with manufacturing businesses across the region, and now needs a specialist who can take it further.

You'll inherit some warm clients, earn without a cap, and work for a name that opens doors rather than one you have to explain.

Apply in complete confidence.

Your details will never be sent to any client without your express permission, and your current employer will not know you've enquired.
