The Desk
- Managing the full 360 recruitment cycle across construction disciplines including site management, M&E, civil engineering, trades and labour, and project delivery, from initial client brief through to placement and aftercare.
- Developing new business through outbound calls, meetings and site visits with regional contractors, consultancies and SMEs across Manchester's growing construction landscape.
- Sourcing and headhunting talent at every level, from site operatives through to senior project and technical professionals, using job boards, LinkedIn, referrals and your own network.
- Writing and posting job advertisements, screening applications and shortlisting candidates against client briefs, then coordinating interviews and preparing candidates ahead of client meetings.
- Negotiating terms, fees and offers to bring roles to a successful close.
- Establishing and growing a profitable niche within your chosen construction specialism, acting as a trusted adviser to your client base.
- Providing market insight and salary benchmarking to clients and candidates and building your profile at industry events and networking functions.
Who This Suits
- Proven experience in construction, engineering or specialist technical recruitment, with a strong track record of billing and successful placements.
- Commercial drive, resilience and strong communication skills, with the confidence to manage a diverse range of clients and candidate audiences.
- A genuine interest in the construction sector and a consultative, relationship-driven approach to recruitment, rather than a purely transactional one.
- Comfortable working autonomously to build and grow a desk, while still contributing to a wider team.
