Our client is based in St Helens and is currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team in this newly created role. This is a brilliant time to join a growing business who have an excellent team spirit running through the finance function, and you will be offered lots of support as you settle in. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of all-round transactional processing and reconciliations, as well as some exposure to routine month end and year end duties. You will be given autonomy and demonstrate a willingness to support fellow team members.

As Assistant Accountant your duties will include:

  • Weekly management of the profit and loss production for multiple cost centres
  • Manage all group cashbook postings
  • Reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts
  • Produce short term cashflow monitoring and forecasts to understand cash position
  • Manage all the company credit card and expenses
  • Assist the Finance Manager with the year end audit and adhoc reporting
  • Continue to improve efficiencies around controls and processes
  • Support with the invoicing process as needed to ensure deadlines are met.

What we are looking for as Assistant Accountant:

  • Experience within a fast-paced finance role/department
  • Good working knowledge of ledgers and associated reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in controls/processes
  • Comfortable using Excel and finance systems such as Sage 50
